Mary K has cultivated a loyal following for her delicate contemporary jewellery and wanted to add an eCommerce option to her outlets.
Chief among Mary’s requirements was that the website reflect her brand ethos of quiet understated elegance and secondly that the site had to be easily manageable by anybody with a basic working knowledge of the web. This ease of use had to extend to day to day stock management, addition of new products and of course order fulfilment. In the circumstances Shopify was the obvious choice of platform so Mary’s site was created by customising a Shopify template in a way that didn’t affect the standard Shopify user experience. Customisation was applied to almost every area of the site from control of product images and responsive behaviour over multiple device types and a faster smoother path to check out but in a way that was invisible to the daily user.
Presentation of Mary’s large range of products with simplicity of navigation was a major consideration, in essence ensuring that a visitor can easily locate an item they may have seen elsewhere. Facilitating a potential customer shop by style or material in the least obtrusive way and simplifying the journey to check out has resulted in a higher than average conversion rate and an industry low abandoned cart rate.
